Creating new Pages

You can create new pages by typing a new title between two squared brackets anywhere in the page:
[[Name of the new page]]
The title should be the English/pinyin followed by the Chinese characters, for example "Ai Weiwei 艾未未". If you do not know one or the other, don't worry. Someone will add it later.
After saving the page, the link to the new page will appear in red, which indicates that by clicking on it you will create a page with the given name.

Alternatively you can enter a name in the search box and press "go". You will be asked if you want to create the page.
Once you have created the page, please refer to ASC's editing guide for help in writing the entry in English or Mandarin.
Categories
To decide on the category for your new entry and review the guidelines for content within that category, decide on the most appropriate of the seven content categories on the Main Page. Click on it to access the index of existing articles of that type. Guidelines for researching and the template for writing such entries can be accessed at the top of the page.
Choosing the corresponding template from the options presented when initiating a new entry will likewise help to guide your work. It will also ensure your entry ends up in the right list following its live publication.
How table of contents works
- A TOC is added automatically as soon as you have more than three headers.
- To add one with fewer than four headers, type __FORCETOC__ anywhere on the page or __TOC__ at the position where you want to have the TOC.
- To remove a table of contents from a page, add __NOTOC__ to anywhere on the page. The "__"-character before the commands is two "_"-characters together.
Displaying random images
You can put in a special tag in order to display random images. Within "choices" you can choose the pictures you like to display:

Please do so only for categories, as it does not work well with WYSIWYG editor. Therefore you have to turn off the editor for this page with the following magic word within the wikitext:
